Mogra Phulala: A Blossoming Celebration of Devotion and Culture by the Surendra Pathare Foundation

The Surendra Pathare Foundation recently hosted a captivating cultural program, “Mogra Phulala,” at the Symbiosis Auditorium in Viman Nagar, Pune. This devotional musical event, held on the 24th and 25th of July, received an overwhelming response from the citizens of Pune, who gathered in large numbers despite the continuous heavy rain. The event was centred around the life and works of the revered saint, Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj. Esteemed speaker and social reformer Ganesh Shinde delivered a profound discourse on Sant Dnyaneshwar’s life, captivating the audience with his vivid narration. His words painted a picture of the saint’s journey and wisdom, leaving a lasting impression on all present.
To make this evening better, the program also featured performance by renowned singer Sannmita Daptay-Shinde. Her rendition of devotional songs and abhangas, such as “Mogra Phulala,” “Alandi He Gav,” “Abir Gulal,” and “Bholava Vithhal,” enthralled the audience. Her soulful voice brought to life the spiritual essence of Sant Dnyaneshwar’s teachings.
Surendra Pathare, the president of the Surendra Pathare Foundation, emphasised the importance of instilling strong cultural values in the younger generation. He stated, “If we want to provide our future generations with a foundation of good values, there is no alternative to the teachings of our saints. This program was organized to emphasise the need to study and experience this invaluable literature.”
The event was graced by the presence of Vadgaon Sheri’s first MLA, Bapusaheb Pathare, and other esteemed dignitaries. The auditorium was filled to capacity, reflecting the community’s enthusiasm and appreciation for such cultural initiatives.
The program concluded with the recitation of “Pasaydan,” a prayer that encapsulates the universal teachings of Sant Dnyaneshwar, bringing the event to a serene and meaningful close. Surendra Pathare expressed his heartfelt gratitude, saying, “Despite the heavy rains in Pune, the audience’s enthusiastic response to both days of the event has been truly inspiring. We thank all the dignitaries and citizens for their unwavering support.”
