Bridging the Gap: Government at Your Doorstep Initiative by Surendra Pathare Foundation

In a commendable effort to make government services more accessible, the Surendra Pathare Foundation organized a certificate distribution ceremony at the Lokshahir Annabhau Sathe Kala Rang Mandir, Yerawada. This initiative was part of the larger “Shasan Aplya Dari” scheme, aimed at providing crucial documents to citizens without the usual bureaucratic hurdles.
From June 21 to 23, citizens in Yerwada were invited to apply for various certificates, including income certificates, domicile certificates, residential certificates, and senior citizen certificates. Responding to these requests, the foundation organized a distribution ceremony where these essential documents were handed out. The event saw the cooperation and support of officers from the Tehsildar and Taluka Executive Magistrate’s office, whose involvement was instrumental in the smooth execution of the initiative. Their support was greatly appreciated, and it underscored the importance of collaborative efforts in public service.
The success of the event Government at Your Doorstep was evident from the satisfaction and gratitude expressed by the citizens. Many found the initiative incredibly beneficial for accessing government schemes and services that require proper documentation. Encouraged by the positive response, the foundation announced that similar distributions would soon take place in Chandan Nagar, ensuring that more citizens receive their necessary certificates promptly.
Earlier, the foundation held a similar event in Yerwada, where 4,302 citizens benefitted. Following this, a two-day camp in Chandan Nagar on June 26 and 27 saw an overwhelming response, with 3,429 citizens receiving various government certificates. These numbers highlight the significant impact of the initiative on the community.
Surendra Pathare, President of the Surendra Pathare Foundation, emphasised the importance of such initiatives: “Students, their parents, and other citizens often need government certificates for school admissions, various official purposes, or to avail themselves of specific schemes. Understanding this need, we organized these camps to provide free certificates under the Government at Your Doorstep scheme in Yerwada and Chandan Nagar. The positive feedback from citizens is encouraging and reinforces our commitment to serving the community.”
The success of the initiative was also marked by the gratitude expressed by the beneficiaries. Many visited the foundation to personally thank the team and the officers involved. The inauguration of the event was graced by the presence of Bapu Saheb Pathare, the first MLA of Vadgaon Sheri constituency, who highlighted the significance of such citizen-centric initiatives.
The Surendra Pathare Foundation’s “Government at Your Doorstep” initiative stands as a testament to their ongoing efforts to improve the quality of life for citizens by making essential services easily accessible. This initiative not only provided immediate benefits but also set a precedent for future community-focused endeavours.
