Books have been the oldest means of self-entertainment that humanity has known. In today’s age of technology, we tend to move towards online platforms for entertainment but not only long exposure to screens can be harmful, but they also can’t express the same emotions as a book does. In the words of renowned writer Stephen King, “Books are uniquely portable magic.” Surendra Pathare Foundation came up with a unique idea to send this magic to every household by setting up bookstalls across various societies in Kharadi. Much to our surprise, the stalls were met with very enthusiastic readers of all age groups. These stalls also witnessed the birth of many new readers as they picked up their first books and series. It is as they say, books are a gateway to many different worlds, and during these times of lockdown, they took many readers to various adventures through them.
